FENG SHUI
THE ART OF HARMONIZING YOUR SPACE WITH THE UNIVERSE
In Taoist belief, all things behave in a cyclical manner; the human body, the seasons, and time - and with all things, there is no beginning and there is no end. Feng Shui is the practice of living in accordance with the flow of these changes, and learning to be in harmony with the state of flux within the universe. By understanding that we are co-creators within a larger system and seeing our interconnectedness with all things, we can begin to work within that system to encourage specific beneficial outcomes, and discourage destructive ones. Taoism describes this art of living within the flux and uncovering the set of rules of transformation as “Understanding the Way of Heaven and the Way of Earth.”
Every building has a “life,” a soul and personality, and live within these cycles of the universe. Trained by Master Debra Duneier, founder of EcoChi, my practice utilizes ancient teachings from both Compass and Form School to read patterns of energetic flux in your space and the surrounding land to determine the most beneficial spatial flow, allowing you to live in harmony with universe.
Feng Shui practices can be utilized on their own to identify specific cures or enhancements for your space, or can be seamlessly integrated with traditional interior design practices, laying a strong foundation and direction for all future decisions.
How can Feng Shui benefit you?
At Studio 36, we view our spaces as an extension of self. One influences the other; if our inner world is out of order, so will be our outer world, and vice versa. There are invisible (and sometimes visible) energies interacting with us and within our spaces at all times. If you have ever felt uneasy or uncomfortable in a space but can’t quite explain why - there is a reason for that! Our bodies and nervous systems intuitively know things our conscious minds can’t always identify. Feng Shui helps us identify occurances that are taking place behind the scenes that may need to be adjusted in order for the soul of our space to function at its highest potential. Similar to acupuncture, it is an energetic tune-up, breathing life back into your space and allowing energy to flow.
